In case you haven't heard, John Legend, Grammy-winning singer/songwriter, is the executive producer of WGN America's new drama series, "Underground."

"Underground" is a period drama following a group of slaves plotting a 600-mile escape from a Georgia plantation through the Underground Railroad.

This isn't just another tale about the horrifying and gruesome realities of slavery, though. It's instead, an empowering story of a heroic escape to freedom. And it looks awesome.

Each character brings a unique trait to the escape plot. There's Noah, the ringleader of the pack.
Rosalie, who will stop at nothing to break free.
