This woman got 11 tattoos in a week and they show a different part of history.
This is Casey Lubin. She found an ad looking for a woman who was willing to get 11 tattoos in just one week.

She knew it was risky and maybe a little crazy, but each of the tattoos selected for the project would represent a different decade throughout history. She was excited about the prospect of wearing history on her skin.
Clae Welch is the artist responsible for recreating these iconic American style tattoos for Casey.

The black and grey floral tattoo was a nod to the 1910's.

The 1920's-inspired tattoo was placed on her forearm.

A small clipper ship was chosen to represent the 1940s.

A Don Ed Hardy style mermaid was the 1970s pick.

A super colorful and surreal lotus was the tattoo chosen to represent the 1990s, when Guy Aitchison was the king of ink.

To represent today's tattoo style, Welch took inspiration from Nikko Hurtado, who's known for his color portrait work.
