4 Questions To Ask On A First Date That Will Guarantee A Second One

by N/A, 10 years ago | 1 min read

First dates can be terrifying. Neither of you knows what you're really getting into. Is this a good person? Could I see myself dating them in the future? It's always hard to say, but asking these 4 questions can get you some answers.

First dates don't have to be terrifying. They can be great, exciting ways to get to know someone–as long as you're asking the right questions. Try these questions if you really want to learn the important things.
1. "Do you usually follow your head or your heart?"

This question can be a great way to get right to the core of someone's personality. This can reveal the answers to other questions, like whether your date is more interested in science or art, or whether they try to understand their surroundings in more of an emotive or a logical way. Of course, your date probably falls somewhere in the middle, and just because they might be the opposite, it doesn't mean things won't work out.

2. "What's most important to you in this world?"

You could go even further with this, and give your date a specific number of things to name, though that could potentially really put on the pressure. This question is a great way to figure out where your date's priorities lie--are they more into material goods, or are they completely passionate about helping charities? Again, there's no right answer, just an answer that might be more right for you.

3. "What are you currently reading?"

Hopefully it's something, but if they say "nothing," that's definitely useful information. Where do they get their news from? Do they prefer fiction, nonfiction, or poetry? This is a great way to find out the way someone thinks, and can lead to some fun conversations and debates.

4. "Do the ends always justify the means?"

What lengths is your date willing to go to to get something they want? This can be hugely revealing of your date's personality, and might tell you a thing or two about what a romantic your date is.

Now get out there and find some love!
