These Maps Will Have You Proceed With Caution In These Places With Some Ghostly Residents

by N/A, 10 years ago | 2 min read

Peter Black, a lead geospatial engineer at Trulia recently conducted a survey to find out what places across the United States are most ghost-infested, i.e. the spookiest. This information is relevant if you're trying to avoid getting scared to death, or if you're the kind of person looking to contact a local spiritual communicator to really make things scary this Halloween.

Black explains, "It was a very scientific survey. And not at all random." So, now do you believe in ghosts? Let's see.

So first, let's look at the top 10 most haunted places in America. This is where you can go (or wisely avoid) for some serious paranormal activity:

Here's how the top 5 looks:

1) New Orleans, LA
2) Seattle, WA
3) Kansas City, MO-KS
4) Providence, RI-MA
5) Hartford, CT

Live near any of these hotbeds of ghostly activity? Better get yourself prepared for when the spirits awaken.

Okay, so there's no evidence of a zombie apocalypse in these places, but what they did was look at the worst places to live if that in fact happens, i.e. near packed cemeteries.

As you could've guessed, Atlanta, subject of the hit AMC series The Walking Dead comes in at #8 as its near the Central for Disease Control (CDC) epicenter. So, if you can avoid the ghostly dead, and be aware of the potential for the living dead, you've got yourself on the right track for Halloween so far.

But, that doesn't get you off the hook yet. What about vampires? It could happen! How could they determine this? They looked at the number of hospitals and blood banks in urban areas...

Because that's what the vamps would be coming for, right?! Not your actual still living inside of you blood. If only we could be so lucky in this fictional scenario.

So what did we learn about ghosts...

Don't go to Providence or Boston this Halloween! Both showed up on multiple maps. In fact just avoid the east coast altogether. Too many people means too many opportunities for one of these nightmarish situations could happen and you can't beat those odds.
