Thanks To Some Kind Hearts And One Awesome Wheelchair, This Kitten Is Ready To Roll

Cassidy is a kitten that lost his hind legs shortly after birth. He was born to a feral mother and almost died in the first two months of his life.

Thankfully, an animal rescue group in Langley, British Columbia, was able to save him.

So, first of all: meet Cassidy. Isn't he just adorable?!

The animal rescue group that saved this little guy was Tinykittens, as you can see from the photograph. Shelly Roche, the owner of Tinykittens, explained in a Huffington Post interview that his legs were mostly chewed off when his mother was trying to detach the umbilical cord after birth.

Tinykittens explained on Facebook that by the time they found him, he'd nearly starved to death, and his body had stopped fighting an E-Coli infection he was suffering from in both stumps.

But he wasn't going to go down without a fight.

He began regaining his strength in the ensuing weeks, but was still having trouble getting around. That's where a second organization came to the rescue: Handicapped Pets Canada.

This organization helps animals with disabilities, so as you can see above, they designed Cassidy a tiny wheelchair to help him learn to start walking. Soon, once he gets the hang of it, he'll be fully independent!

This story gets even more heartwarming as we speak. Last week, Cassidy took his first step.
