A Boy in Bangladesh Saved a Drowning Fawn and Barely Made It Back Alive

by N/A, 10 years ago | 2 min read

Amidst a torrential rain, the rivers of Noakhali, Bangladesh were swelling; their banks, hemorrhaging water. A young boy named Belal was walking past one of these flooded waterways when he noticed a tiny fawn helplessly swept up in its current.

Fortunately for the fawn, his heroic instincts took over.

Immediately, Belal jumped into the river, bravely swimming out to the struggling baby fawn.
After saving it from drowning, he hoisted it above his head with one hand and proceeded to swim underwater in the treacherous current.
Onlookers weren't sure if Belal would make it back to shore.
At one point, he was almost completely submerged, as spectators nearly lost sight of him.
Thankfully though, he was able to successfully make it across to the other side, with the fawn still safe in hand.
Were it not for Belal's heroism, this baby deer would have surely met its fate that day.
After bringing him safely above the water banks, he sought to reunite the fawn with its parents.
But understandably, first he had to catch his breath and regather himself.
Soon though, he was back on his feet, searching for his parents...
Who fortunately, were looking intently from nearby, waiting for their baby to spot them. Thanks to the help of one brave, young hero, they were able to reunite.
