Photographers James and Karla Murray have been working on their book, “Store Front: The Disappearing Face of New York,” in which they capture the fleeting family-owned storefronts and shops of New York City. In doing so, they came to the realization that much of these classic locations are vanishing, only to be replaced by either corporate businesses or worse, a decaying facade.

10 years after the initial photos were taken, they returned to many of the previous locations they had photographed to examine their current state. To no surprise, what they found was something much more different than what they had seen before in the ever-changing city of New York.
