California-based artist, Andres Amador has embraced the fleeting nature of both art and life. With his larger than life beach creations he creates ephemeral "playa paintings" that are beautiful due to their magnitude and intricacy.
Using a rake, to create shapes and patterns, and a rope as a guide, Amador creates gorgeous images in the sand when the tide is low. Using wet sand allows him to create more depth due to its darker shade. When the tide returns, his work washes away.
He uses his beachscapes to help people with everything from marriage proposals to corporate team building excerises.
Amador's beautiful work is not truly gone when high tide comes. He currently sells photo prints and postcards of his work on his website.
