1. Chocolate is sort of a vegetable.

They only make good cacao bean for 25 years, however.
3. It's a native of the Americas.
It was cultivated as far back as 1250 B.C. from Mexico to the Amazon.
4. However, most cacao is now grown in Africa.
The Ivory Coast alone produces 30 percent of the world's chocolate.
5. Cacao was once used as currency.
The Aztecs valued the beans that much!
6. White chocolate isn't chocolate.
It actually doesn't contain cocoa solids or chocolate liquor. However, it does contain parts of the cacao bean.
7. Hot chocolate was the first chocolate treat.
But it looked nothing like this! It was first brewed by the Aztecs and had a bitter taste.

He demanded it at all time, including during military campaigns.

She had her chocolate, and ate it too!
10. Solid chocolate was invented by the English.
In 1847, Fry and Sons came up with what they called "eating chocolate." It contained cocoa butter, sugar, and chocolate liquor.
11. The first chocolate bar was made in England as well.
The Cadbury company made it in 1842.
12. Milk chocolate was invented in Switzerland.
