“Nevermore” will you have to read another article about ravens after this! (See what we did there?)
1. Ravens are actually really smart! When testing their intelligence, researchers have found ravens rank high.

For example, ravens will pretend to hide food when others are watching, only to really hide it later.
2. Ravens can imitate human speech.

3. Ravens are prominent animals in myths and legends.

They have appeared in myths from China to North America.
4. Ravens are SUPER playful.

5. Ravens communicate using gestures.

They love to play in the snow, mess with other animals, and even make toys for themselves!
6. Although ravens are mischievous, they empathize with one another. If a raven's friend loses a fight, the raven will console the other bird.

Additionally, ravens will act friendlier to others they like. Much like we humans!
7. Europeans often saw the raven as an evil animal. Many myths depict ravens as symbols of evil, or evil in disguise.

8. Ravens can adapt to (almost) any environment. They can live almost anywhere, like desert, snow, mountains, and forest.

9. Ravens love ants! They roll around in ant hills, and even crush up their guts and rub it on their bellies.

Kinda gross, huh?
10. When ravens are teenagers, they're up to no good. Just like humans.

When they reach adolescence, they leave home and live with a gang until they mate with another raven.
